Orchard House is close to the centre of Bakewell with its cafes, shops, pubs, restaurants, banks and swimming pool. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within a short drive (or a long walk), and the caverns and rocky edges of the Peak District are easily accessible to the north. The start of the Monsal Trail- a disused rail track, ideal for easy walking and cycling-is only 500 metres away. Children welcome from age 14.

Hi J & G, Thank you for your kind review. You are the first pirates we've ever welcomed to Orchard House, and I suspect you'll be the last! Cheers, David

    Notes

    • Cars are parked on a gravel surface. The first-floor bridge gives easier access from the parking area than the ground-floor entrance, but there are seven steps to negotiate. Support is given by a stone wall on either side of the steps. Once inside, the rooms are all on one level and there is a stairlift that can be used to reach the ground floor ( for breakfast and so on)
