Northern England

England's proud and historic North has so much to offer. The North East England is the home of theatre, art and culture. Newcastle has more theatres per person than anywhere else in the UK, it is also rich in culture and art with the BALTIC centre of contemporary art and of course the famous angel of the north. The North West can offer great variety, with the quiet and picturesque Lake District and the lively outgoing towns of Manchester and Liverpool, the region is most certainly an area of contrast.

The Sage Gateshead was designed and built to be accessible to all and has sought to go beyond compliance to become a model of good practice. The same high standards apply to access for visitors, performers and staff alike.

Chill Factore in Manchester is the UK's most authentic indoor ski resort, complete with real snow and a welcoming atmosphere. Chill Factore is home to Disability Snowsport UK, a nationwide registered charity providing adaptive skiing for individuals with any disability, including physical, sensory and learning disabilities. By using adaptive equipment and specialist instruction and support they are able to cater for even those with very limited mobility.

Alnwick Castle was filmed as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies, and forms a fabulous backdrop to the Alnwick Garden. The Garden is run separately by a charitable trust, whose aims include "ensuring access and activity addressing disability".
