Access to a traditional narrowboat is not suitable for those with limited mobility. It is necessary for passengers to step across the gunwale onto the front well deck of the boat and then to go down two steps into the lounge. While a wheelchair or pushchair can be accommodated folded there is not enough room for them to be used aboard.
