Royal Exchange Theatre

Details

We believe theatre is for everyone, and we're passionate about proving it. For almost forty years the Royal Exchange Theatre has been a hub of superb storytelling for Manchester and the UK.

Housed in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, you only need to step inside to begin a journey into the world of the Royal Exchange Theatre. Resembling a lunar space craft set down amidst the glass domes and towering columns of this Grade II listed building, the Royal Exchange is the largest Theatre in the round in the country, seating up to 750 people on three levels.

An intimate 90-seat space, our second theatre space; The Studio, welcomes nationally renowned touring companies alongside Royal Exchange productions, showcasing an eclectic programme that includes performances by local communities and our Young Company.

The historic Royal Exchange building is home to much more than a Theatre. Whether you want to learn more about the Theatre module, explore the Great Hall and its history or find out more about venue hire, you'll find everything you need right here.
