Park Cottage is a recently converted and renovated estate stone cottage. It sleeps six people making it a perfect annexe to the main house allowing for different dynamics amongst a large party. Booked separately it provides an ideal retreat for families wishing to enjoy the convenience of ground floor disabled facilities.

The cottage has a very contemporary feel with large light open plan living space, large bi-folding doors open out on to its own private accessible decking and pretty walled garden, barbecue and outside dining furniture. It also has disabled facilities with a downstairs bedroom and wet room and under floor heating. If Park Cottage is taken separately to Park House, guests have shared access to the children’s playground and the walled Badminton Garden and the orchard and fields beyond.

Guests will find Park Cottage comfortably and well equipped with games including boules and jenga, maps and walking books, Wii console, Wifi and telephone line.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor – a double, and a twin that can be made a double. There is also a family bathroom. On the ground floor is a twin or double bedroom and wet room that has disabled access M1 & M2 Awards. The beds are super-comfortable with middle-firmness mattresses, soft duvets and luxury cotton sheets, and you’ll find a generous bundle of soft white towels in each room.

While the house and grounds provide guests with a huge variety of things to do, or a wonderful environment in which to do very little, Cossington Park also provides opportunities for numerous activities, events and nearby places to visit like Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, and the stunning Somerset Levels.

Sporting activities and displays in the grounds can be pre-arranged, adventures such as caving or off-road driving can be found locally, or for those who prefer a slower pace, we can organise spa days, gourmet evenings, falconry, archery or wine tastings.

‘We chose this property as it was wheelchair accessible for my son, and it proved to be a great find. The cottage has recently been fully refurbished and is in excellent condition through out - beautifully furnished. Location is good too - easy access to Bridgewater, Street and Glastonbury, and Wells and Weston-s-Mare are both also worth a visit. The service was also excellent - we needed a stool for my son as the wet room downstairs is shower only, and when I mentioned this to David he picked one up from a local mobility supplier within a few hours. All in all a lovely few days in a beautiful surrounding. I cannot fault it’.

‘Booking was quite last minute and so we grabbed this without looking at the reviews first and feel we really fell on our feet. The hamper was a lovely surprise, complete with doggie treats. Good weather always helps, allowing us to eat our meals on the decking and Bat watch! As we were only there for 3 days we didn't spend that much time indoors as we were sight seeing but could imagine on a longer stay happily spending a time in the grounds playing badminton and just chilling 6 mixed age adults and 2 small dogs! ‘

Our delightful stone cottage has been awarded National Accessibility Level M1 & M2 which means it is suitable for a person with restricted walking ability who may need to use a wheelchair some of the time. There is a wheelchair ramp allowing easy access to Park Cottage for both wheelchair users and the less mobile. The ground floor of the cottage is all on the same level and has a wooden floor through out. There is a double or twin room on the ground floor, an accessible wet-room with shower seat and grab rails, open plan kitchen, diner and sitting room opening onto a decked terrace and a wheelchair friendly small walled garden with handrails for the less mobile. A variety of birds visit the garden and our little nesting box is regularly in use. The garden is accessible via a concrete sloped ramp. At the top of the ramp a gate to the right allows access to a larger walled garden and the greater estate. Please see the separate Access to Gardens document on our website and also an Access Statement giving greater detail of what is provided at Park Cottage. For those who are part of a greater party using both properties there is a step free route from the side door of the cottage to back door of Park House via the Park House garden gate, there are two ramps on the route and there are no steps into Park House.
